Stop reading this article. Go on LinkedIN look up 5 people who landed jobs that they didn’t have the background or the qualifications to have that job. These people are making more money than there peers for one simple reason:
They understood How to get a Job that they were Not qualified for.
I don’t mean being a brain surgeon, but I do mean landing a well paying job that challenges your brain that you don’t have previous experience doing.
For a second in time, let’s follow the logic of being qualified. You have zero or no experience. You apply for a job making sandwiches. Your parents most likely taught you this skill.
Next, you apply for cashier for people who buy the sandwiches. After all, you have experience in the sandwich environment.
Next, you apply for night cashier and you are responsible for locking up and moping up the floors.
Next, you apply for a janitor role because you have experience moping floors.
Following this logic, after 3 years of “working your way up” you are making just above minimum wage and cleaning floors, which is a very noble job. But NOT likely are you interested in that after paying out thousands of dollars to challenge your mind for those degrees you have on the wall.

You could push your way through the corporate tangle using a well trodden path that is hidden to most people, but taken by those who continuously get jobs that are a stretch for them.
